Who is in your final four?

With the regular season wrapping up and teams heading into their conference championships, the College Football Committee has a big issue to solve. That issue is what four teams are going to make the College Football Playoff.

Back in 2014, when the College Football Playoff was first installed to erase all of the issues of the old Bowl Championships Series, people had their doubts that the new system was not going to work. However, no one pictured what the committee is currently facing. It is best simply put as Chaos.

Whether you pick four, eight or even twelve teams, you are always going to have a school saying they were shorted their chance at calling themselves National Champions. No one could have predicted the way the college football season played out this year. Teams constantly knocking each other off, the current number two team in the country not playing for their conference championship, and Alabama being the only consistent factor, remaining the number one team since the first week of the season.

In the SEC, Alabama has been the powerhouse all year. They have dominated their opponents, in what is a ridiculously tough SEC schedule. The defeated eight ranked opponents this year and finished the regular season undefeated. The are playing in the SEC championship in Atlanta, Ga. against Florida and are the only sure write in for the final four.

The most difficult decision is going to be who comes out of the Big 10 conference. Ohio St., Michigan, Penn St. and Wisconsin. Out of these four, two will most likely make it into the playoff. The question is what two will be in and what two will miss out. Penn St. and Wisconsin get ready to face of for the Big 10 Championship in Indianapolis, In. Ohio St. and Michigan are coming off of the game of the century, in which Ohio St. was able to come from behind and defeat Michigan in OT. If Penn St. is to win the conference, do they make it in? Does Ohio St. deserve that ranking? Will Michigan sneak in after a great season? Many of these questions will be answered once the final four are decided.

In the Pac 12, Washington and Colorado get ready to battle for the Pac 12 Championship in Santa Clara, Ca. Washington has been great all season, bouncing in and out of the top four four rankings. Colorado has been a head turner, working there way through the conference and in to the top ten. They find themselves playing for the conference championship and if they manage to win, do they deserve a shot at the National Title?

The College Football Committee has a lot to figure out before Selection Sunday, on December 4th, 2016. One thing that is guaranteed from all of this is that there will be a bunch of excitement surrounding the National Championship Game. Depending on how the conference championship games play out, many of these questions will be answered and help figure out who deserves to be in the final four.
